NYSC & MAKEMATION — An Evening of Film, Fun & AI for Lagos Corp Members

On Tuesday, 6th May, 2025, the MAKEMATION train rolled into the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) campground in Lagos for an evening of film, fun and AI.

Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji, the Producer/Executive Producer of MAKEMATION, visited the Lagos corps members to let them know that the future was waiting for them.

Vibes on Vibes — NYSC Lagos Camp Joins the MAKEMATION Movement

Because they’ve spent weeks learning true patriotism and how to serve their nation with their education, talents, and acquired skills, these corps members missed earlier MAKEMATION stops. And because it is their film—one that Toyosi made to encourage them to champion the production and adoption of frontier technologies to move their careers and the country forward, it was necessary that they feel the vibes.

And feel it, they did, with Adesege “Westy Baba” Adeniji, controlling the crowd, numbering over 3,000.

The corps members entertained themselves in a talent competition and won gifts courtesy of the MAKEMATION Executive Producer. Then she returned to the stage to promote the film and deliver an uplifting keynote as the grand finale. The highlight of her speech was when she promised to speak with the Lagos State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Christiana Salmwang—who attended the event—to secure the top performers entry level roles in tech, data, and AI at Rise Networks.

Official Support and Career Opportunities

The Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Youth and Social Development of Lagos State, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende also joined the festivities. He rewarded the talent show participants and admonished them to take advantage of the opportunities that companies like Rise Networks and Rise Interactive and reminded them to become upstanding citizens contributing to Lagos’s growth.

Afterwards, several NYSC members spoke with the Rise Networks and Rise Interactive Studios team. They expressed pleasant surprise at merging tech with Nollywood and praised the myriad opportunities the film showcases. Finally, they committed to using their skills not only for personal success but also to drive Nigeria’s and Africa’s technological future.
