Last Saturday, the Tech-Themed Family Movie of the Year, MAKEMATION, made a vibrant appearance at the STEM Africa Fest 2025 Lagos Edition. This premier gathering of STEM enthusiasts in Nigeria focuses on inspiring the next generation to explore the vast possibilities of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. As a film that showcases the potential of artificial intelligence, MAKEMATION’s participation was a perfect fit for the event.
AI for Good: STEM Africa Fest’s Theme Strikes a Chord with MAKEMATION
The theme of STEM Africa Fest 2025, “AI for Good“, aligned seamlessly with MAKEMATION’s message. The event featured over 30 exhibitors showcasing innovative AI solutions to parents, educators, and children. As Africa’s First Feature Film on AI, MAKEMATION represented AI Storytelling, demonstrating how AI can be naturally infused into narratives.
The MAKEMATION booth was a visual treat, with colourful aesthetics, artistic posters, and our sophisticated smart, and AI models that drew in hundreds of visitors. The interactive screen displays and engaging materials on the table drew in curious visitors, many of whom expressed keen interest in the film’s concept and its upcoming plans. The visitors were spellbound by the film’s message and projects, and many were quick to fill out their details to stay updated on MAKEMATION’s upcoming projects. The MAKEMATION Journey Continues
With this landmark gathering of STEM enthusiasts now in its fifth year with STEM Africa Fest 2025, the momentum for a new kind of thinking across Nigeria and Africa is undeniable. MAKEMATION is fuelling this shift from a creative standpoint, using film as a tool. Our goal remains to shape how young people see and use emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence.
The next phase of the movement is the Nigerian Universities Campus Tour, known as the “MAKEMATION On Campus AI Tech Festival”, which will take this message directly to students, professionals in and outside tech, non-students, parents, and children across the country, with university campuses serving as the key points of convergence.
